Hi I'm Casey Sturm! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Service Provider working at Wildflower Children's Counseling. I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Carson Newman University and am board certified. I am experienced in working with both children and adolescents. Through individual therapy, I treat issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relational conflict, foster care, and problematic child behaviors. I offer Christian counseling services upon request of the individual/parent and believe that faith plays a huge role in mental health. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and often incorporates the family. I have experience working in social services, foster care, and community mental health. I am trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I utilize Play Therapy because play is a child’s language. I am passionate about giving children and adolescents a voice while providing ongoing empathetic support for families. I believe that everyone deserves a safe place to explore, grow, & heal.
I have grown up in the South - and although I've lived in several different states, Tennessee is definitely my home. I am married to a wonderful man, Brandon, and we have a sweet Golden Retriever named Indy (Indiana Jones). I love reading, spending time with family and friends, and watching movies. I also enjoy watching basketball and football (GO VOLS!). I have traveled the world doing mission work and even lived in Kenya for an extended period of time working as a Social Worker at a hospital.
